one of those days...

Today has been such a test and trial for me as a mother. Nothing very significant happened at all. Except that my children, namely the older one, drove me nuts all day long today. It started out at 5:15 this morning when he woke up to go to the bathroom and never went back to sleep. I won't go into many details about that rest of the day, only that I feel like I screamed at my children oh too many times today. I threatened Zach that Santa wasn't going to bring him any presents probably 4 times today, I don't think he buys it. Anyways, I am glad that the day has ended and they are both peacefully sleeping, for the moment. I am hoping that I can start over again tomorrow and be much more calm. Isn't that the great thing about little kids though? You CAN start over the next day, because they are so good at forgiving and forgetting.
sigh, thank goodness for bedtime.

Tagged

I was tagged by Meegan a few days ago to share 5 things about my husband.

1. Tyson loves kids. He is a sucker for babies, whether they are his own or someone elses, he loves little babies. He has this rythmic bounce that can calm and lull any baby. I am not kidding it is great.

2. Tyson is one of the harderst working people that I know. He never compains that he has to get up at 5:45 every morining and go to work and then to school. He never has a problem with mowing the lawn or shoveling snow, he is always willing to work where ever he is needed.

3. That brings me to number 3. Tyson is such a giving person. He will always help out someone who needs it. I can't tell you how many service projects he has helped out with and never ever said a word, while I am in the background going, don't they know you have a family? Tyson will drive 30 min in the opposite direction just to give one of his coworkers a ride home. He has such a giving heart.

4. Tyson has a love for music that is borderline obnoxious. Not the kind of music that he plays, but the kind just to listen to. He loves almost every kind of music there is. He loves hard core rap, sappy sappy country, heavy metal, gospel, jazz, and pretty much everything in between. He will spend hours and hours by the computer downloading music and then putting it on his ipod so there is just the right amount of everything. He loves going to concerts and would go to a lot more if his wife would let him.

5. Tyson has a passion for fashion. He loves clothes. He likes to go shopping and he actually does dress pretty good. But he is really funny about things that I don't even notice. Like whenever he pulls his jeans out of the closet, he has to spray them with water and then put them in the dryer so that they are just right. I love it, it really makes me laugh. Although, I have to admit, the way he dressed was the first thing that attracted me to him.

I hope this list is sufficient. I could go on and on. But these are just a few of the things I love about my husband. I am tagging Amy, AnneMarie and Kellie. Have fun!

Happy Birthday Brooklyn!

I was so excited about these cakes!! They turned out very cute and tasty too!

I fixed baked spaghetti for Brooklyn's Birthday dinner. It is her favorite!

She also had her own little cake that she got to eat however she wanted. Spoiled, I know.
She loved it! It was a fun birthday for her. I can't believe that she is already 2!

I love you like a kid loves candy and fresh snow

Zach eating Snow!
Brooklyn eating Snow!

Nick and Kellie took the kids sledding over to the Mueller Park hill on Saturday. They were very cold and wet when they came home, but they had a blast. Thank goodness for aunts and uncles without any kids yet!!

THIS. Is what I get excited about!

Today it snowed for the first time this season. I cannot tell you how excited I get about the first real snow that sticks to the ground and the trees. I LOVE IT. I know that a lot of people get bugged by it, but I really love it. I even like driving in it. It just gets me sooo excited for Christmas and playing in the snow with my kids and SNOWBOARDING!! Even though I will probably only get to go a couple of times this year. It brings back memories of being little and loving the snow and then even learing to love it more as I started snowboarding. It makes me so giddy and happy inside. So needless to say, today was a happy day for me.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving this year was such a great day! We had almost the whole family here except for Matts family who live in Michigan. I don't know why, but the food tasted better to me than it has for the past many thanksgivings. We had a full house, as we always do, at Mom and Dad's house, but it was lots and lots of fun. It was a great day to kick off the holidays!!

What could be more fun?

These kids had a blast raking up the leaves and diving right in.

it's the small things....

that makes being a mom so rewarding. Tonight, it was just the kids and I at home. This is something that is quite common on any given night, but for some reason I enjoyed it more than usual. We laughed and played and laughed and played. Brooklyn decided to bring a whole bunch of books out onto the couch to read. Zach and I counted them and there were 20 books! So we read them all. Of course some of them were the condensed version, but even so it was a lot of books.

Halloween!!

This year was lots of fun for Halloween, mostly because Tyson and I got to dress up too. Tyson was originally going to be Pedro, but then he decided to be white trash butt rocker instead. As you can see, I had a lot of fun with the wig and Zach. Brooklyn looked cute as ever as a "butterfly fairy" and Zach is supposed to be dracula, although he looks a lot like grandpa munster in the first picture. I took the kids trick or treating since tyson had school that night and it was so fun.

Another Birthday

I have to say that this year I had quite a good birthday. The celebration started the weekend before when Tyson took me out to dinner to the Happy Sumo. I am so loving that place right now. The next night we got to go to a Halloween costume party. On Sunday, my whole family came over for dinner and celebrated and we had a yummy yummy chocolatey cake from costco. On my acutal bday, my friend Annemarie had me over to her house for lunch. mmm cafe rio. And I got so many phone calls and emails and texts that day. It was lots of fun. Then the next night Libby and Karla took me out to California Pizza Kitchen. So after five days and about 10 lbs more, I am happy to be 28, and feel so loved.
ps. notice Nicks nerdy halloween shirt in the background. What a goon, I love it.

my boy zach

These pictures pretty much show Zach as he is. He has such a huge imagination and he is always playing some sort of imaginary play. He loves to get his guns and go "hunting" it's cute until he is "hunting" Brooklyn. The other day I went into his room and his racecar track was all torn apart. I asked why he did that and he simply stated, I was a sea monster and I was attacking the race cars. Oh ok that makes sense now.

Brookie

These pictures were taken back in September by my very talented photographer friend, Meegan. I just loved these pictures so much and this is just my little Brooklyn. She can be a pill a lot, but she is oh so sweet.

Boating in Nebraska

Rewind to the summer. While we were in Nebraska for one of our summer vacations, we went boating with Tyson's friend Josh. He has a very nice ski boat and we had a blast! The nice thing about the lakes in Nebraska in the summer time; they are VERY warm. We jet skiied and wakeboarded for the day and it was so much fun. I also got to leave Brooklyn home with Grandma and all the other aunts that didn't want to come, so it was nice to be able to be free for a day.

Soccer Days!

Zachary started playing soccer this fall. He and his friend Sam are on the team called the Polar Bears. Being a first time soccer mom, I thought it was going to be such a fullfilling experience. Boy was I wrong!! Zach and his buddy Sam, decided that the soccer field was their own personal Ultimate Fighting field. They would kick, hit, punch, karate chop, wrestle, and scream like little girls. After about 3 or 4 games, Tyson and I were very frustrated with the situation. We were leaving the games not too happy with Zach. His last game was about 3 weeks ago, and I have to admit that the last game was probably his best game. He didn't attack anyone and he actually kicked the ball a few times. We are hoping for a better experience come spring.

Camping at Whitney Lake

I love this picture, the view is gorgeous!

Brooklyn doesn't quite have the appreciation for fishing yet.
This is Whitney Lake, Zachy caught his first fish. He was so proud and excited. He is such a cute little fisherman. He hardly ever gets bored in the boat, he just waits patiently, holding his pole, waiting for the fish to bite.

Tyson had to get a picture of the fire. My brothers Matt and Nick would build the huge bonfires everynight, they are always like this.

Zach looking like an inbred
We had such a good time at Whitney Lake, the weather was perfect and all of my brothers and their families were there. It was a very good trip.

New Phones and Sunglasses

ok, so I finally got a cell phone, i know I am a little behind the times, but can I tell you how excited I am. Bailey wanted me to post it on my blog but you can't get the full effect of its beauty until you see it in real life. Very exciting. But now I can text for days!!!!!!!!

Tyson also let me use my plasma money to get some new shades, they had to be arnettes and not dolce and gabbana or channel or something so trendy. He is very funny, but I love them anyway, so here they are. ENJOY!
