This Describes me PERFECTLY today...

I have had my share of "klutz" moments today. One involved me kicking a door and actually puncturing the door with my foot. (sorry mom! and tyson, who will NOT be happy about this.) I also spilled hot chocolate all over the counter and myself because the lid to the "cocoamotion" wasn't secured tightly. So awesome.

Did you get what you wanted?

These two did! We had a great Christmas and hope everyone else did too!

Santa's Coming!...I know him!

Merry Christmas Everybody! We have been quoting various lines from this movie all morning long. Even my 3 year old chimes in and says a funny line.

UPGRADE!!!

Woo Hoo! For those of you who haven't heard. Two weeks ago, our sweet(and by that I mean pretty dang junky) 1993 Honda Civic was innocently parked in front of our house. About 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning, I heard a loud crash and then a car horn continuously honking. Some lady plowed into our car. She totalled it out, so we naturally had to go buy a new car with the insurance money we recieved.

So we went and purchased this little beauty last night! I am in love. I am sorry, but I have always loved Audis and this car is soooo nice. Don't worry it's only a 1999, and we didn't spend much at all. But isn't is just cute?

And the best part is, my sweet darling hubby is letting me be the one to use it! Thank you Ty! What a wonderful Christmas gift. Anyhoo, if you can't tell, I am just a little more than excited. And if I really love you, maybe I will take you for a ride in it, it has seat warmers.....

It's been a long day for ALL of us...

This evening we needed to take a quick trip to Costco to buy water softener salt. Brooklyn fell asleep before we had even gotten there.
She stayed asleep on Ty's shoulder all through the store and then we layed her on top of the water softener salt and proceded to wheel her through the store. We had many comments of ooh's and ahhs and some chuckles. One man even asked if he could buy her. HA!
The best part was, she didn't wake up until we got home and then she was really mad because she wanted to go to Costco!!

THAT! was a close one.

This is the aftermath of Brooklyn's very heavy, five drawer dresser falling over. She wanted something off the top of the dresser, so she opened each drawer and climbed to the top, only to have it come crashing over. All I can say is that we are very blessed that she wasn't crushed underneath it. A Very tender mercy!

Hooray for the Light Parade!

Last week we took the kids down to mainstreet to see the light parade.

It was pretty chilly, but they got a big kick out of seeing all the cars and floats decorated and lit up. There was free hot chocolate and cookies and they were passing out candy sticks and chapstick. All very exciting for our kids. The last item in the parade was Santa waving out of a chimney. Zach and Brooklyn got so excited, it was really cute. And the best part was, the parade lasted about 20 minutes!!

Brooklyn is 3 !

Brooklyn turned 3 years old yesterday! It was a very fun day for her and she was such a good girl all day long. For those of you who know Brooklyn very well, this is quite a big deal for her to be good. It has been a long year of the terrible two's and I am just crossing my fingers that #3 will be somewhat better.
She chose Orange chicken and Rice with Broccoli for her birthday dinner.
I gave her my old wooden dollhouse that my Grandpa Reynolds made for me when I was just her age.

The ironing board and iron is also vintage Jennie.

The pretty princess with her totally awesome Mrs. Black cake. (modeled after a stuffed cat named Mrs. Black who used to be a real cat when her uncle Nicky was little. a long story.) But that is the cake she requested.
We had a good day yesterday and I am so thankful for my mostly sweet little girl. I love her so very much and love almsot everyday that I spend with her! We had some big milestones take place this last year which included potty training, moving to a twinsized bed, now sharing a room with her brother, and getting rid of her Binkey!!
Happy Birthday Brooklyn I love you!!

24 Days of Christmas

Tyson's cute mom thought up this idea to do 24 days of christmas for Zach and Brooklyn. She sent this huge box full of sacks for each day and a little toy or prize for them to open every day in December.
As you can see it takes up a nice little piece of their room and they love it.
They come into my room as soon as they wake up every morning and beg for me to come in and take down the bag. It's a good thing they are up so high so the kids can't reach them. Each bag also has candy in it. So that makes for a lovely little 7 a.m. sugar high! Thank you Omaha Grandma and Papa!

Confessions of a Twilight Drama Queen....Not me

Beware, you "Twihards" as you like to call yourselves, are heading into the same category as these champs, known as "Trekkies."

Okay seriously, everyone is getting a little too crazy obsessed with this whole Twilight craze. I mean, I read the books, I enjoyed them, but that is where it ended for me. I admit, that I will someday eventually see the movie, but c'mon girls!! This is just about as bad as all those Star Trek nerds going to their conventions wearing their Spock gear. I mean, really you guys all crack me up! I know that I am going to get a lot of hate comments from this post, but if I read one more blog post dedicated to the love and obsession for Edward or any other member I think I will throw up a little in my mouth. I know you are all pretty irate at this point, so bring it on. I can handle it.

Much Love.

(p.s Tyson was the instigator for this post.)

And the Festivities have begun!!

Putting up the Christmas Lights on the Roof!!
He is such a champ. He even let the kids come up on top and hang out with him for just a little bit. They thought it was the COOLEST thing ever to be up on the roof with their Dad.

Later that evening, we decided to take the kids into Temple Square to see the lights. It was a good time. It felt a little too early to be doing this, but it was very fun anyways.

The kids had a blast and I am sure we will be back again before Christmas is over. S0, have a Merry beginning of the Christmas Season!

BLACK FRIDAY.....

Friday morning my friend Suz and I decided to brave the crowds and get in on some sweet deals. The first store we hit was ShopKo. They opened at 5 a.m. so we were there about 5:45. The line to get in was half way around the store, but I was enjoying all of it. I had no expectations at all. We then headed over to Target because they opened their doors a 6. After two successful places, we headed over to Kohls for a quick peek and then up to Layton to hit Toys R Us. I have to say, for my first experience doing this, it was fun. I found some really great deals on toys that I wanted for both of my kids, and some movies for Ty. I don't know if I will be up for it again next year, but it was fun. We didn't get back home until around 10 and we had a great time!
I did not take this picture, but the line at Target was similar to this one! People are crazy!! (I know, I am too, because I was there.)

Humanitarian Efforts put to good use

My dad brought these little newborn beanies home from the humanitarian center. We were just testing them to make sure they would keep a baby's head warm...or a kitty's.

Tag about T-Bone

This tag is all about Tyson.

What's your husbands name? Tyson William Bartlett

How long have you been married? 7 years!

How long did you date? um, 7 months, 3 of which we lived in different states. It was not fun.

How old is he? 30 years OLD

Who eats more sweets? It's close but I would have to say Ty.

Who is the better singer? We are both pretty bad, but I will say he is.

Who is smarter? I think Tyson is, but that's only because he is still going to school and actually uses his brain. I stay at home all day playing kitties with my two year old.

Who does the laundry? I do, but sometimes I slack and he does what is needed.

Who pays the bills? Me

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Tyson does and it always happens that MY side is the side closest to the door, hence, I get woken up when the kids get up in the night.

Who mows the lawn? Ty does, but I know how!

Who cooks dinner? Well, when dinner is cooked, it's me.

Who drives? Tyson usually does, but once in a while he decides to take a break.

PINKALICIOUS!

Zach brought home his book orders from school today and the kids were so excited. Among the books was a very cute book for Brooklyn titled "Pinkalicious." If you haven't read this book, it is about a little girl who eats too many pink cupcakes and she turns pink. Brooklyn absolutely loved the book.

So, We decided to make pink cupcakes and see if she was going to turn pink.

Her favorite part was when the little girl said "I'm Pinkerbell!"
The book even came with a pink wand! Which, of course, Brooklyn thought was great.

NOT Indiana Jones

This morning Zach came and got in bed with me. We were having a nice little chat and the subject turned to what he thought we should name our baby. We were laughing and saying, Nemo, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Simba, etc. He then said Indiana Jones. I said, Yeah! let's do it, that would be awesome! Zach got so upset and said no! I said yes, we will call him little Indy! Zach was on the verge of tears. He told me that all the kids at school would make fun of him because his brother would have a much cooler name than him. I was laughing so hard at this! He also said that his brother would be way cooler because Indy is a much better name than Zach. I had to calm him down and tell him that we wouldn't name him Indiana. Then Brooklyn came in a loved the idea of naming the baby Indiana Jones and Zach was all upset again.

We just can't have a sibling cooler than Zach.

14 Weeks and....

I went in for my check up today and my doc asked me if I wanted to see what I was having. I said, "seriously?" So we did a quick little ultrasound and there were his little man parts in plain view. I was so excited to find out so early! I was kind of leaning towards a boy and I am sooo excited. The doctor said he was about 75% sure and we will have a better look in about six weeks when I go back for the real ultrasound. When I told Zach he was going to have a little brother the look on his face was priceless. He said "I've always wanted a brother!!" So now you can all put your two cents in for names, however, I am pretty set on William. It is my father's name and Tyson's middle name. We would call him Will, definitely not Bill, sorry Dad. I am just a little relieved to not have another little diva running around the house.

Trick or Treat

Zach and Brooklyn all geared up to go trick or treating. Don't worry, this picture was taken at about 10:30 this morning. They kept asking all day long, "is it time to go trick or treating yet?"

Little Indiana with all of his gear on. He was so proud of his realistic jacket and weapons.

Little miss Witch. Fully equiped with her broomstick and her black kitty. She did NOT want to wear her witches hat.
It was quite an easy trick or treating experience. Brooklyn was done after about the 7th house and Zach got to go for a little while longer with Annemarie and crew. It was cute because Zach and Sam were both Idiana Jones and Brooklyn and Lizzie were both witches, and we didn't even plan it.

Happy Halloween!!!!

YIKES!!!!

Last night Ty and I went to a halloween party put on by some people in our neighborhood. We had a great time. Lots of yummy food and entertainment.
We opted for the "Punk Rock Goth Theme" I know, I look so hot.
Ty seriously thought he looked so bad A, he loved it a little too much.

Look at that good looking couple!
They gave out prizes at the party for Best costume, funniest, scariest, etc. Guess what prize we won? Most likely to get divorced!

school bus crush

Zach had his first kindergarten fieldtrip last week and I was one of the lucky moms that got to go with. We loaded up the school bus and drove 30 minutes with 50 screaming kids to the aquarium.

This was the little group I got to be in charge of.
Zach and his buddy Sam so happy to see each other.

Zach chillin out after the fieldtrip.

Take note of the girl in the middle. Her name is Rachel. I got to witness firsthand the serious crush my little boy has on this girl. He was so upset that the little blonde girl wouldn't trade places with him so he could sit by Rachel. I was laughing so hard. I loved watching him trying for her attention. Nice moves Zach, Nice moves.

Little Monsters

Yesterday Evening the kids and I were downstairs looking for a movie to watch on demand. Zach wanted to watch Goosebumps, but I couldn't find any. I found the movie "Little Monsters". Zach was so excited to watch it. Brooklyn didn't like the title and told me she didn't want to watch it. Tyson came home from work and decided to watch the show with the kids. It really wasn't a scary show and Zach was loving it. I came down and took one look at Brooklyn's face and new I was in trouble. She told me she wanted to go upstairs so we did.
Well, about 11:30 last night she woke up crying. I went in and she said she was afraid. I said of what? She said there were monsters in her room. GREAT! This is all my fault. I tried everything I could think of to help her feel better but she was so scared. So I scooted her over and got into bed with her. She fell asleep without a problem. At 5:45 this morning she was crying and I went in her room and she said, "The monster is getting me." Aghhhh!! I was so mad at myself for letting her watch even part of that dumb movie. And it was a really dumb movie.
I kept trying to figure out who the monster was because he was so obnoxious. It's Howie Mandell from Deal or No deal! I think that is so funny. He was sooo annoying in this movie.

all I can say is...WOW...and this post is a whiney one!

The past couple of days have been a little crazy around our house, to say the least. Let me just give you a little glimpse of what my day was like yesterday. Actually, it started out Thursday night, when we had some family issues and I was up until 3 a.m.

Friday morning 6:30 a.m. Brooklyn wakes up because her pull up has leaked through her jammies and soaked everything. Thus, waking up Zach and they were wide awake. (mind you, I went to bed a 3.)

Friday morning 10:00 a.m. Brooklyn announces that she has peed on my bed. I couldn't believe the amount of urine that had traveled all over my bedspread, all three throw pillows and her stuffed cat. I was so angry.

Friday 11:05 a.m. Zach and Brooklyn are downstairs watching a show while I am trying to clean up around the house. I hear Zach crying saying "mom help! mom help" I go downstairs andBrooklyn has managed to wrap my fathers excercise rubberband that is hooked to the treadmill (accident waiting to happen) around her neck several times almost to the point where she can't breathe. Zach is hysterically crying saying "Brooklyn!! Brooklyn!" I managed to unwrap the band from around her neck and then had to unravel the mess that had tangled in her hair like you wouldn't believe. She was bawling throughout this whole ordeal and it did scare me a little too. I thought I was going to have to cut her hair out because the band was wound so tight in her hair. It took a lot of pulling and twisting, and her crying, but we managed to free her hair without any damage. Zach was picked up for school still crying. What a sweet big brother. I just have to say, that was a very tender mercy that he was down there when this happened. It really scared me.

Friday 12:30 p.m. I walk into the kitchen and Brooklyn has a huge smile on her face and says, "I cut my hair." I looked down and there was hair all over the front of her shirt. Oh man, was I pissed. You can't even tell now that she cut it, but at the time, I was REALLY upset.

Friday 4:40 p.m. Brooklyn announces that she has peed her pants on the stairs.

Friday 5:30 p.m. Brooklyn announces that she has peed on her floor. By this time I lost it, I stripped her down and left quite the red handprint on her naked little bum. I then sat her down on the naughty chair, completely naked.

If you had enough patience to read through all of this, I will let you know she didn't almost die today, she didn't cut her hair today, and she didn't have one accident. It's been a much better day.

I'm sure you're wondering: And she is pregnant with another one? Is she crazy? Well, my motherly instinct is telling me it's a boy, so lets keep our fingers crossed.

I love my children dearly, but I am in need of SERIOUS break.

Ok, that's all I am going to boob about.

The End.

10 things I CAN'T live without?

I was tagged by Meegan to list 10 things I can't live without. I decided that most of these are 1o things I just dont WANT to live without.

1. Ty, of course.
He keeps me grounded when I need it the most. He also is the best father to our kids and I just love him.

2. Zachy and Brookie. Of course I need my kids! Yeah, I could go a couple of days without them, but then I would want them back.

3. Diet Coke. Yes, I love you. Need I say more?

4. Mmmmm...Sushi. I could seriously eat Sushi any time of day. That sounds so good right now.

5. Snowboarding. Oh how I wish I had the money to buy a season pass and go every single weekend this winter. This was truly the first love of my life, it's what made me love Ricks College. Well, I guess, until I met Ty.

6. SLURPEES.
Being pregnant has given me a few different cravings. The strongest is a mango peach Slurpee. I love them so much.

7. Having a good book to read. It is a rule I have that I ALWAYS have to be reading a book. I guess it's not a rule I made, it's just that I feel like something is missing if I don't have a good book to look forward to reading. It is so nice to get in bed early and read late.

8. Shopping for Brooklyn. Don't get me wrong. I really do LOVE shopping for myself, but it is sooo fun finding something cute for her. I could do it everysingle day. Sometimes I get online and put things in my shopping basket and pretend I'm going to buy them just to satisfy the urge.

9. Talking and Texting on my phone.

I know, it's kind of lame, but I really do love talking on the phone. I can get so much laundry folded while having a nice little chat with a friend. And texting is just fun, I mean who can argue with that?

10. Weekly visits to Target.

Ok, maybe I go more than once or twice a week. But it's great, especially when going with a friend! I love their clothes for the whole family. I love their beauty section. I think they have good buys on cereal, well, I could go on and on.

So there you go. I tag..Kellie, Rachel, Annemarie, Amy, and Tasha

Do it, or don't it's cool either way. It gave me something to blog about.
