Poor Little Zachy

There is a funny story that happened at Annemarie's house. I don't want to steal her blog post, but since it includes my child I thought you might like to check it out.

Kindergarten!!!..sniff sniff

Today was Zach's first day of kindergarten. He was so excited to be big enough to go! He had a great day and is really bummed that he doesn't get to go back until next week, when school really starts for the Kindergarteners. He didn't hook up with his buddies like he was supposed to after school and I was a little bit worried when I had to go looking for him. I found him sitting calmly in the office waiting for me. I asked him if he was nervous and he said, "nah, I'm fine."
I can't look at this picture without giggling! I think these three rode the short bus to school.

I think its going to be a fun year.

Sweet Sushi

I found this idea for Sweet Sushi on a recipe blog. Sorry, I really can't remember which one. I loved the idea and thougth it was so cute! I was so excited to have a reason to make these little faux sushis. I have to add, Ty did help by putting on the fruit by the foot and the gummies on top. I made them for our friend Mike's 30th birthday party. So I made them, displayed them, and ate them, and I have to say, that I was teeny tiny dissapointed. They just weren't all that great. I did have fun making them though.
The proud "betty" all ready to show off her creation. Too bad the kids liked them more than the adults.

Shooshi

My child loves sushi. She pronounces it "shooshi". I really think it's funny that a two year old would like it, but she does! She totally digs the rolls. I love that she likes it, because I like it too!

Jack Johnson!

I have to say, he's a good lookin guy.
Ty and I got to go to the Jack Johnson concert at the Usana Amphitheatre on Monday night. It was fun to get away and just be together!
Jennie getting all geared up for the show. Mostly, I was really hungry
My basket of BBQ chicken and fries that somebody STEPPED on!!!! I was very mad
It was a fun concert and I really like Jack Johnson a lot. That being said, I think I like listening to his music on my ipod rather than in concert. But it was still a lot of fun and a nice night with my hubby!!

Tyson the homeless..I mean Mountain Man

I know, I know, most of you are drooling over this manly man with his beard. Ha Ha! Tyson and a few of his co-workers decided to have a "beard-off" for the month of August. So the beard growing began. Most people really didn't notice because he started off with a goatee. I noticed and to say the least, I wasn't too excited about his new growth. He seriously looks homeless. The only fun part is making fun of him and telling him that he needs to go live in a van down by the river and start shopping at REI and Patagonia. I think he is going to shave it off soon, thank goodness. Notice that his mustache region is a little sparse. He doesn't grow hair right in the middle of his upper lip. So his mustache turns out looking like a frenchman or a raggy hippie either one is nasty.

Whitney Lake '08

Spencer tying Zach to the flag pole
Walking down to the lake to go fishing
Gorgeous lake, no fish that day
Ty and Brooklyn ready for a long ride
This is one of our favorite places to camp because it is so pretty
Zach getting ready to practice shooting skeet with the big boys. (he didn't really shoot)
Arm wrestling, always a great pastime
Zach learned to ride a two wheeler while we were there! The best part is, he just got on the bike and started riding!! It was great. Now I can't get him off his bike! (this is his cousin Sophia's bike that he learned on)
my kids were FILTHY the entire time we were there
Grandpa Bill dancing to sweet home alabama with the kids, it was really cute.
We had such a great time camping with my whole family, it was great weather, a few summer thunder storms, and lots of fun!!
